We booked into a strange hotel in the centre of Prague where they served broccoli, carrots and boiled eggs for breakfast, the Japanese seemed to enjoy it though. The hotel wasn’t great but it was ideally placed just around the corner from the tram stop from which we explored the city.
Once you escape the ugly graffiti scrawled back streets of the city, Prague has some beautiful old streets and buildings to explore. The old town itself across Charles Bridge from where we stayed was absolutely stuffed with tourists like us.
We sampled the local food and drink, and discovered a nice dark, bottled beer with the memorable name of Velkopopovický Kozel. Hard enough to pronounce when sober, best just to point after you’ve had a few.
Last night there we visited the (apparently famous) ‘singing fountain’, a fabulous light and water show to the accompaniment of classical music and some tart sat behind us who spoiled the show by talking incessantly throughout the whole thing!
